A wine or a myth? The dark, intensely fragrant, endlessly long wine that flows from this bottle opens onto other worlds. Vintage after vintage, the mystery remains whole: the harvest is barely over, and already a vat of Sylla is like no other.

Grape & winemaking

It all begins in the vineyard, on the foothills of the Montagne Noire, three hundred metres up, where the cool air sliding down from the ridges draws out the ripening of the grapes. Syrah reigns alone over this cuvée. Picked into small crates and laid gently in the vat, the grapes are vinified as simply as possible, as whole berries. Ageing, with no oak whatsoever, lasts 15 to 18 months depending on the year.

Born of the Montagne Noire ridges

Three hundred metres up, Sylla's Syrah grows along screes of marl and limestone torn from the massif by erosion and ancient glaciers. At the end of scorching summer days, cool air slides down from the ridges and draws out the ripening of the grapes. It is there, in this balance between fire and freshness, that the depth of the estate's most legendary wine is born.
