Domaine
Single-vineyard selection
Sylla, Belle de Nuit, Maxime, Rêve de Carignan: four cuvées, each born of a single grape, on the plot where it expresses itself best. Sylla's Syrah ripens slowly on screes of marl and limestone that ancient glaciers tore from the Montagne Noire. Belle de Nuit's Grenache catches fire on high slopes tortured by erosion, between flint and clay. Maxime's Mourvèdre breaks its silence in an amphitheatre of fine clays nestled in the garrigue, facing south-west. The old vines of Rêve de Carignan cling to the stone of the driest slopes, where no other grape would survive. Wines that say nothing but the place where they were born.
Mountain terroir
On the foothills of the Montagne Noire, more than 300 metres up, coolness flows down from the ridges at the end of summer days, and the night's rain washes the sky. Beneath lies a silent force: the schists of Ventajou, griot marble, limestone and marl shaped by ancient glaciers, flint and clay. A patient earth, whose imprint every cuvée bears.
